The Lion King Box-Office Collection, Day 4: Film Passes The Monday Litmus Test With Flying Colours
The Lion King, which is a remake of the 1994 animated film by the same name, is doing exceedingly well at the Indian box-office and has exceeded expectations by crossing the 50 crore mark on Day 3 thus, having a great first weekend. After crossing the 50 crore mark, The Lion King has now passed the Monday litmus test with flying colours by staying solid on day 4 at the domestic markets.

Mondays are usually a crucial day for every film, but this Jon Favreau film managed to stay solid. The film has minted Rs. 7.90 crore on Monday, taking the total to Rs 62.65 crore at the box-office. The film now aims to cross the 80 crore mark and going by the latest trend, that day is not so far for The Lion King to achieve it.

The film boasts an all-star voice cast led by Donald Grover and Beyonce, while the Hindi version has been dubbed by Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan. This was sure to create an increase in the footfalls. The film wasn't received well by the critics and it was rated 2 stars by SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani as he wrote, "It's almost all over for Disney's all-new photorealistic computer-animated remake of The Lion King (English) from the iconic opening scene, with all the animals gathering to bow before the cub Simba. It looks exceedingly sweet, fake and cold. Imagine a film full of animals recording low readings on the temperature scale from the word 'Go.'"

The trend is expected to continue going strong this week, however, it might see a reduction in the number of audiences from the next week. The film released in 4 languages- English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil in India.
